About the Maine State Senate President's
Cornerstone Award
President Richard A. Bennett
created the President's Cornerstone Award in honor of businesses who
contribute to their local and state economies, as well as their
community. Each month a committee of four businesspeople from across
Maine reviews Cornerstone nominations and recommends several companies to
President Bennett. He subsequently chooses a Cornerstone Award
winner every month of the year. The award is a means of recognizing
and thanking Maine's private sector businesses, their leaders and their
employees for sustained investment in and commitment to Maine and
providing prosperity, opportunity and hope to Maine people.
